We are very excited to post planning approval granted October 2014. This challenging Luton site is constrained by busy roads and a Grade 11 Listed church building.
We wanted to create high quality high density flats using a duplex arrangement. These properties have dual aspect so that each apartment benefits from quieter living spaces facing away from the road.
The duplex plan allows us to reduce the number of corridors inside the building providing more space for useful accommodation. The building steps and curves, literally ‘moving away’ from the Grade 11 listed church as if it were following the movement of the traffic. We like the way that corridors are expressed on the building facade and how the pattern of windows adds to the sense of movement.
