This affordable housing initiative looked at; Community and Culture (designing in consultation with tenants); Lifetime Homes (we provided a useful spare space on the ground floor to accommodate changing requirements); Health (passive ventilation and light double height interior spaces); energy (high performance SAP and energy modeling to reduce heat loss); Conservation (water dual flush Wc’s); Offsite Manufacture (timber cassette systems) and all within the then Grant criteria.

These homes were very popular with residents. They provided interior spaces more usually associated with homes for private sale.

The scheme was featured by Paola Sassi in her publication ‘Strategies for Sustainable Architecture’.
